This two-year studentship, funded by Zoetis Animal Health, at Bristol Veterinary School provides a link between feline clinical and research work, with an opportunity for involvement in multiple projects and completion of an MSc by research on a feline subject. The MSc is undertaken on a part-time basis over 2 years with the remainder of time being devoted to a range of feline-related work such as production of the e-newsletter Feline Update, delivery of CPD and advice to veterinarians, involvement in teaching, journal club, clinical rounds, diagnostic laboratory work and involvement in other research projects ongoing during the fellowship. The studentship provides an insight into an academic/research career and is particularly suitable for a veterinary graduate who is interested in feline medicine and research. Current areas of feline research interest at Bristol Veterinary School are infectious diseases, immunology, genetic disorders, shelter medicine and epidemiology.

Successful applicants are veterinary graduates who are eligible for membership of the RCVS or RCVS members, as MRCVS status is a requirement for this role. Some small animal clinical experience is very advantageous as the successful applicant will need to deliver CPD and advice to veterinarians. Good communication skills are required as well as showing initiative. Some experience of research is useful but not essential.
Standard University of Bristol eligibility rules apply for this studentship.

The studentship is available every 2 years. Advertising for the studentship will be via https://www.findaphd.com/
