The University of Bristol, a world leader in vision science, is at the forefront of studies in human and animal vision, artificial vision systems and imaging. The Bristol Vision Institute (BVI) is the home of vision science research in Bristol and has been successfully stimulating research interaction and collaboration in science, engineering, arts and medicine since its creation in 2007. More about BVI.
BVI's primary focus is on developing a better understanding of the visual mechanisms and processes evolved in humans and other animals, and on translating these to innovations in technology, medicine and the creative arts.
The Bristol Vision institute organises a number of workshops and conferences, frequently hosting international visitors and collaborators. Our regular events include our BVI Seminar Series, Richard Gregory Memorial Lecture and Young Vision Researchers Colloquium.
