Level M/7 - Postgraduate Certificate |
Autumn term: Spring term: Summer term: At the time of the Summer term school experience, students will be, to a large extent, increasingly independent and confident in their occupation of diverse professional roles. They may have secured a first teaching appointment, or be actively seeking one. They will have a clear idea of their strengths and weaknesses, of their particular interests in teaching, and of their personal developmental needs. School experience this term provides for further teaching and work with children, and opportunities for other professional experience, constructed round a clear set of targets set out in an action plan. This term is also a period of substantial University-based work, in which students will be expected to extend their knowledge and understanding significantly, informed by the greater experience of schools, children's learning and curriculum issues. Much of this work looks beyond this year of initial training towards students' first year as a qualified teacher. |
