This unit will introduce participants to the key concepts in narrative research interviewing, including the gathering, selection, transcription and co-construction of life stories and personal and group narratives within interviews and conversations. Experiential workshops will provide opportunities to explore interviewer positions and conversational styles. Lecture, debate and discussion will equip participants to identify and evaluate appropriate interview strategies and practices for specific projects. C6 Key reading

Teaching and learning opportunities will include both tutor and student presentations, seminars, small group work and micro-skills sessions.
A written or multimodal assignment equivalent to 4000 words will be required.
