Description including Unit Aims

The unit will provide education and training in the processes and skills of research in counselling and psychotherapy. It will offer an understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of the relevant social science research methodologies and facilitate an understanding of the ethical issues relevant to research in these fields, and with different cultural groups. The education and training offered in the unit aims to prepare students ethically, methodologically and conceptually for their own research, to be undertaken as the dissertation component of their MSc programme.
