Description including Unit Aims

YEAR 1: Students will attend 5 fieldtrips throughout the year. They will keep a Notebook which will contain a record of fieldtrips and site visits. By undertaking a small amount of independent research for each site, students will have a better understanding of the chronology and interpretation of the site and enhance their learning experience and provide useful reference material. Students will undertake 5 days excavation. YEAR 2: Students will undertake 5 days excavation and will keep an Excavation Diary throughout their excavation experience (Year 1 and 2) which will be written up as an Excavation Notebook for submission at the end of year two. It will contain a record of their excavation experience as well as any other practical fieldwork they are involved in on site.
