Description including Unit Aims

This unit will help MSc Engineering Management students develop a sound understanding of various research methods and successfully manage their research projects from developing the research area to writing the final dissertation. The unit will explain the basics of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, reasearch design and planning, sampling techniques, data collection and data analysis methods, using computers in research andpresentation of the research findings. The unit design is based on active, flexible and student-centred learning approaches. All students will be encouraged to participate in the discussion during lectures. Students will also be responsible for assigned reading for each lecture.
