This unit consists of the following elements: Engineering Hydrology 2 and Open Channel Flow 2.
Aims:
Engineering Hydrology 2:
To give students a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of engineering hydrology and water resources.
Open Channel Flow 2:
To give students a solid grounding in open channel flow and river engineering.
Engineering Hydrology 2:
By the end of the course, successful students will;
1. understand the hydrological cycle and its related processes,
2. be able to use hydrological models for simulating groundwater and river flows, and routings,
3. be able to understand hydrological statistics and its use in designs
Open Channel Flow 2:
By the end of the course, successful students will;
1. be able to solve uniform flow problems,
2. be able to analyse hydraulic jumps,
3. be able to analyse hydraulic structures and a wide range of problems in river engineering,
4. understand classifications and computations of varied flow profiles,
5. understand the unsteady flow equations and their applications,
