This unit will cover important topics in modern water engineering and the water industry, including water and wastewater treatment, water supply and distribution, water quality, and aspects of water management in both developed and developing countries.
Aims:
To provide a structured introduction to the theory and practice of modern water engineering and management.
By the end of the course, successful students will;
1. describe the main processes involved in managing water quality throughout the water cycle,
2. design simple water supply networks, sewerage systems, treatment processes and management plans,
3. explain the complex interaction between water engineering and the wider water environment.
