Description including Unit Aims

This unit introduces students to basic substantive principles of English property law. Topics covered include definitions of property, ownership and possession; an introduction to equity and trusts; remedies; original acquisition: finding chattels and adverse possession; formalities: contract and conveyance for land and chattels; declarations of trust; assignment of equitable interests; imperfect gifts and informal acquisition including proprietory estoppel, resulting and constructive trusts.
