The aim of this module is to provide an overview of existing basic systems in aircraft and to consider their design, development and certification aspects as well as impact on economics in operation. On completion of the module, delegates will be able to: Understand and interpret aircraft systems functions and principles as well as their dependencies derived from requirements and aircraft configuration; Understand basic performance characteristics for individual systems and system architectures; Formulate and consider essential steps in system conceptual definition and related development & certification processes; Understand the influence of aircraft systems on reliability, safety and economics of aircraft operation.
