Description including Unit Aims

Given that all Western organisations, at least in theory, have access to similar resources, and that they are increasingly unable to compete on price, creativity is often seen as offering the last hope of strategic advantage. This module looks at organisational creativity and innovation and offers a critique of creativity techniques. It then goes on to look at how managers might approach organisations not as engineers but as artists and how this might affect practice. It also asks students to consider the aesthetics of organisations and how developing their senses in this way will lead to increased critical faculties.
