Description including Unit Aims

This Unit provides students with an understanding of the care, management and handling of all the major species of veterinary importance. At the end of the unit the students should demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of the structure, operation and welfare of all the major livestock production industries and be familiar with the management, welfare and need of the companion animal species.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the unit students will have a theoretical understanding of the care, management and handling of all the major species of veterinary importance, and the practical ability to safely and effectively handle these species.
