Description: Mathematical and Data Modelling 2 is a group activity designed to help students to improve their ability to apply their mathematical knowledge to the solution of problems of academia, industry and business. You will be doing two short projects (3 weeks each) and one long project (6 weeks), and you will practice presenting your project results in two group presentations.
Aims: Learning how to apply mathematical modelling and data analysis in real-life problems, acquiring team-working skills, and practicing presentation skills.
On successful completion of this unit students will:
Introductory communication skills and team working sessions.
Regular seminar-style meetings with project advisor.
Short project 1&2 written reports: 20% each (learning outcomes 1 & 2) Long project written report: 40% (learning outcomes 1 & 2) Short project presentation: 10% (learning outcome 3) Long project presentation: 10% (learning outcome 3)
