Description: Mathematical and Data Modelling 2 is a group activity designed to help students to improve their ability to apply their mathematical knowledge to the solution of problems of academia, industry and business. Students will do four projects (4.5 weeks each) and present their project results in two group presentations
Aims: Learning how to apply mathematical modelling and data analysis in real-life problems, acquiring team-working skills, and practising presentation skills.
On successful completion of this unit students will:
Lectures, workshops and small group (of 4) teaching.
100% coursework. 4 project reports (8:22:28:28) 1 project presentation (7%); 1 management report (7%)
There is no standard set of textbooks for this course. Each problem presented will typically be accompanied by a couple of references. However, students will be encouraged to use the library and internet to discover any missing technical information not included in the problem presentation
