Description including Unit Aims

This unit introduces some of the core skills of interpreting: active listening, analysing test and utterances for meaning, comprehension and finally reproduction into the target language.Students can concentrate on these fundamental skills without the extra cognitive load or time pressures of simultaneous interpreting.The unit will introduce models of interpreting theoretical and practical techniques of analysis alongside practical consecutive interpreting tasks.
