Description including Unit Aims

This unit develops students’ knowledge of social and developmental psychology and individual differences in behaviour. Across these topics, students will be exposed to a wide range of techniques used in the study of the link between brain, mind and behaviour, including behavioural experiments and neuroscience.

Intended Learning Outcomes

1) Explain contemporary theories and findings in Social and Developmental Psychology and Individual Differences.

2) Review methodological approaches to the study of Social and Developmental Psychology and Individual Differences.

3) Apply knowledge of Social and Developmental Psychology and Individual Differences to understand human behaviour.

4) Evaluate the conceptual and historical roots of Social and Developmental Psychology and Individual Differences, and relate these disciplines to other areas of psychological science.
