This unit provides an opportunity for the student to develop research skills in their particular pathway or specialisation within the broad discipline of archaeology, through independent study and the preparation of a research-based paper.
The unit is designed to provide an understanding of how to study the past through sites, landscapes, material culture, buildings and shipwrecks. The key learning outcomes will include:
Supervision, lectures, and fieldwork
The unit will be assessed by research paper, the topic to be agreed in advance by the Unit Director, and will be related to the chosen pathway or programme. A target length of 3000 words, as well as illustrations.
