This unit provides an introduction to the basic techniques of circuit analysis. It introduces electrical components and the fundamental laws that govern the behaviour of an electrical circuit. Methods of analysis will include the use of phasors for sinusoidal responses, and Laplace transforms for the more general case where there may be initial energy storage and where there is a need to determine circuit transient behaviour. The lectures are supported by a programme of laboratory work.
