Description including Unit Aims

This unit examines themes in the history of the encounter between Buddhism and Chinese culture, including the history of Buddhist art, thought, monasticism, and ritual, as well as state support and persecution of Buddhism in China.

Seminars - 3 hours per week

Assessment Information

One summative coursework essay of 3000 words (50%) and one unseen examination of two hours (50%).
