Description including Unit Aims
The unit will provide a comprehensive understanding of the tertiary level management of infertility. It will detail the clinical and laboratory aspects of assisted reproductive technologies, covering all relevant developments.
Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit the students will be able to:
- Describe the clinical and laboratory techniques used in assisted reproduction treatments
- Recognise the complications, regulatory requirements and role of adjuvant treatments
- Critically analyse case studies, role of gamete donation and follow up of children born
- Formulate appropriate treatment plan for tertiary level care of an infertile couple
