This is a compulsory 80 cp unit for research engineers leaving the EngD programme and exiting with an MRes.
On successful completion of the unit, the students will be able to: undertake an original research activity, plan and prepare a concise, written technical report, orally present a technical subject, including handling questions and tailoring technical and specialist knowledge and information to a broader audience, and adopt a high standard of record keeping and management of information.
Ongoing project supervision provided by project supervisor(s). Students will also have access to skills training workshops and online resources covering topics from project management and managing your supervisor to writing up your thesis and preparing for your viva.
Report outline, final report and presentation.
Students are advised individually by their project supervisor(s) on appropriate references depending on their project.
