Description including Unit Aims
A study of two texts by major post-war authors.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the unit the student will be able to:
- demonstrate familiarity with the texts and with their formal devices.
- demonstrate understanding of their major concerns in terms of the historical, political, moral and personal issues raised by the texts.
- show that they have acquired skills of close reading in Italian.
- show that they have acquired skills of critical analysis and in expressing their independent judgements, in conjunction with appropriate use of secondary literature.
Teaching Information
One seminar hours per week across one teaching block (10 contact hours).
Assessment Information
Essay 1, 1500 words 50%,
Essay 2, 1500 words 50%.
