The group project involves the student working in a group of 5/6 to specify, design and implement a large scale software system. The precise project will depend on the year and is decided upon by the unit director in association with the groups. The project could, for example, be a multi-user game. The system will be developed on workstations, more expensive multimedia hardware is available to demonstrate the system. The project will involve many aspects of computer science, including networking and communications, artificial intelligence, parallel processing, computer graphics and software engineering.
