Description including Unit Aims

This unit develops organic chemistry from the base of CHEM 20120 to provide the coverage suitable for an Honours chemistry graduate e.g. stereochemistry and conformation, reaction mechanisms, synthetic uses of inorganic elements, asymmetric synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, biosynthesis, pericyclic reactions and the chemistry of carbohydrates. The unit includes workshops and practical sessions to develop advanced techniques.
