University of Bristol Centenary Portraits

Autumn 2009 saw the premiere of a unique film by Terry Flaxton. Shot in Royal Fort Gardens and featuring staff and students from across the University, the film was made on 20 May 2009 (Charter Day) to mark the 100th anniversary of the University receiving a royal charter, which granted it university status.

Public art by Jeppe Hein

Jeppe Hein

The University of Bristol commissioned a major work from internationally acclaimed artist Jeppe Hein as part of its centenary celebrations. The work is permanently sited in the University’s historic Royal Fort Gardens, which are open to the public. The official unveiling took place on 5 October.
