Money advice outreach pilots: the providers perspective and client interviews

In 2006 the LSC received £6million of funding from HM Treasury's £120 million Financial Inclusion Fund to pilot different methods of money advice outreach in England and Wales over three years. The objective of the pilot programme was to take legal and advice services to locations which were already frequented by potential clients but where money advice services could not be accessed.

The LSC commissioned PFRC and ECOTEC Research and Consulting Ltd to conduct an evaluation of the pilot programme, focusing on the provider perspective. The aim was to provide an understanding of the key issues, processes and problems that the pilot organisations faced during the set-up, first few months, and subsequent running and delivery of the projects.

PFRC and ECOTEC Research and Consulting Ltd were also commissioned to carry out depth interviews with clients of the money advice outreach pilots, to gain insight into their views and experiences of the service.
