CMPO podcasts notch up 2,500 downloads

24 October 2006

Podcasts produced by Bristol's Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO) have definitely found an audience.

The podcast series, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, features leading academics discussing aspects of Public Service Reform that have been in the news: social networks, disadvantaged children, school choice, and others. The most popular programme so far – on pensions – was downloaded nearly 1,000 times.

‘We’re going to do some interviews using Skype,’ says Professor Simon Burgess, Director of the CMPO, ‘so that we can interview some leading US researchers.’

Future plans include further interviews with CMPO researchers and visitors. The interviews link in with articles in the Centre’s publication ‘Research in Public Policy’, allowing listeners the chance to read about the research in greater detail.
