Professor Eric Thomas, Vice Chancellor of the University of Bristol and Tania Rawlinson, Director of Campaigns and Alumni Relations at the University and Chair of the Ross Group - a network of higher education fund-raisers, have commented to national media on the results of a fundraising survey in the UK higher education sector.

The study, commissioned by the Ross Group and Case (the Council for Advancement and Support of Education Europe) and led by the National Centre for Social Research, surveyed the annual donations to 143 higher education institutions and eight further education colleges in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The findings suggest universities in the UK were given a record amount in philanthropic donations last year.

Coverage of the study was featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC News Channel, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Radio Norfolk, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio 4's The Today programme, the Press Association, the Guardian, Independent, Independent (comment piece), BBC News Online, the Scotsman, The Herald, South Wales Evening Post, Times Higher Education, Civil Society, AOL Money and the Shropshire Star.
