Bristol University goes wild!

Festival of Nature Selfie Article

Press release issued: 30 May 2014

Get involved with #Wildselfies at Festival of Nature – get your camera and get creative!

Latabe the West Midlands Safari Park elephant was the first to catch on to the craze today by taking her very own selfie or ‘#elphie’. She was, we think, taking part in the University of Bristol #wildselfie campaign in the lead up to this year’s Festival of Nature!

The University of Bristol will be hosting an array of events at the Festival Wild Weekend on 14 and 15 June, including an interactive tent with hands-on activities allowing you to discover the latest research that is taking place in life sciences.

In the run up to the festival we are inviting you to think about the nature all around us. There might not be monkeys and albatrosses swinging around, but what do we have? And do we even know what it is? Our immediate environment is packed with nature: plants, animals, birds and insects are all around us!

Show us what you can discover. Look around you and tell us what you’ve seen and discovered on your walk to school or work or outside your house! You’ll be surprised what’s living around you. Take a wildlife selfie and send them to us and it just might be included in our Festival Tent bunting! Be as creative as you like, grab your camera and go wild!

Tweet us at @CPE_Bristol and use #wildselfie for all your pictures across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

More information can be found on the Festival of Nature website.
