Good Grief Festival launched online in October 2020 and has now reached over 25,000 people around the world.

Good Grief aims to normalise conversations around death, dying and grief, empower bereaved people, and widen access to research and bereavement support. Previous speakers at the festival include Peep Show’s Robert Webb, Michael Rosen, psychotherapist Julia Samuel MBE, authors Robert MacFarlane, Nikesh Shukla, Guvna B, Kathryn Mannix, Cathy Rentzenbrink and Rachel Clarke, Professor Alice Roberts and The Right Honourable Stuart Lawrence. The festival has been widely covered in the media, for example by The Guardian and BBC News. Good Grief is hosted by the University of Bristol and works with a wide range of collaborators, including charity partners Marie Curie and Cruse Bereavement Support, with funding from the Wellcome Trust and the National Lottery Community Fund. Over 150 previous events are now available on the Grief Channel, with a YouTube Channel and online Grief Hub launching in 2022.

Building on the success of Good Grief Festival, in April 2022 we launched a new research project called Good Grief Connects, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
