Information for participants and public

Get Involved

The Children's Burns Research Centre has established a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group called the Burns Research Involvement Group (BRIG).  We are actively inviting patients, public and family members to get involved and help us with our research.

We would be very grateful for your thoughts on our research and deciding what we should prioritise next. This would help us develop our research to reflect the needs and views of the public. Type of involvement can be varied: for example you could advise on study design, wording of questionnaires or ideas on how to prevent burns and getting first aid messages out to the public. The time commitment is entirely up to you.

To join our Burns Research Involvement Group please contact us and we will provide you with further information and answer any queries you may have. If you are interested in joining the group we will ask you a few questions about your particular interest in our research programmes:  Clinical Management, Psychosocial Adjustment and Rehabilitation, or Prevention. You can decide what level of involvement would be most suitable for you and there are no obligations.

You can also get involved by following us on Twitter, joining our Facebook page or be added to our E-Newsletter distribution list.

The Burns Collective Image Bank

The Bristol team have created a Burns Image Bank of photos. These images are already being used on our website, in conference presentations and in our newsletters.

All photographs are stored on a secure, password-protected computer network. These photos will not be passed on to a third party. If you would like to contribute your photographs to the Image Bank, please contact us.
