Summary

Biography

Trained with Ernst & Young in the Audit department, achieving the ICAEW ACA qualification in 2003.  Post qualification experience includes the position of Financial Controller for a start-up business and more recently roles at BPP Professional Education teaching across a number of CCAB accountancy qualifications. Gained FCA in 2013.  

Academic interests are focused around teaching practice, particularly the role technology can play in enhancing accounting teaching and learning and the use of experiential learning activities within the field of accountancy.  Gained CREATE Level 1 (CREATE Associate Fellow) in 2017 and CREATE Level 2 in 2018, becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).  Programme Director and member of several School level committees.

In 2017, Sam  together with Adriana Korczak and Emma Pugh , was awarded the University Award for Education as part of the Bristol Teaching Awards. The Bristol Teaching Awards recognise and reward those members of staff who have made an outstanding contribution to teaching, providing support for students and enhancing the student learning experience.
