CGLI Event: 'Stakeholder Participation in AI Governance'

22 April 2024, 12.00 PM - 22 April 2024, 1.00 PM

Lady Hale Moot Court, 8 - 10 Berkeley Square, Bristol, BS8 1HH and Hybrid

The Centre for Global Law and Innovation is hosting a research seminar at which Prof Kaminski (Colorado) will present her paper 'Stakeholder Participation in AI Governance', co-authored with Gianclaudio Malgieri (Leiden).

Their paper focuses on recent attempts to enable participation in AI governance by impacted stakeholders – particularly vulnerable or historically marginalized communities. By surveying a wide array of practices and policy proposals regarding impacted stakeholder participation, the paper aims to arrive at a taxonomy of interventions to assess, and more importantly to enable, stakeholder participation and empowerment.

Margot Kaminski is a Professor at the University of Colorado Law School. She specializes in the law of new technologies, with a recent focus on the law of AI systems. In 2018, she conducted research on comparative data privacy law as a recipient of the Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Grant. She is spending Spring 2024 conducting research at the European University Institute (EUI) as a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow and recipient of a 2023-24 Fulbright-Schuman Grant.

This talk will be open to all Law School Staff and PGR's and also to the public. Please register here.
