Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at Bristol Veterinary School

Bristol Veterinary School (BVS) is committed to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all staff and students. Our ethos is to ensure that all students feel valued and supported in their learning so they can fulfil their potential.

At Bristol Veterinary School we seek to actively promote, for all staff and students regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or ethnicity, an inspiring, inclusive and overwhelmingly positive environment in which to work or study. We aim to create a culture which enables all colleagues to achieve their full potential while respecting the diversity of the whole Langford community (staff and students alike).

Professor Tim Parkin, Head of Bristol Veterinary School

What is EDI?

Equity involves allocating resources, support and opportunities to enable all individuals to be successful, and to eliminate barriers such as discrimination and bias.

Diversity is recognising, respecting and celebrating each other’s differences.

Inclusion means creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
