Denise Coates Foundation (formerly bet365 Foundation) Bursary application process launched

The Law School is delighted to launch the application process for Denise Coates Foundation Bursaries 2016-17.
The Denise Coates Foundation Bursary supports first year undergraduate students studying single honours Law from low income backgrounds. The Co-Founder a Trustee of the Denise Coates Foundation, John Coates, studied law at the University of Bristol. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to make a positive difference to people’s lives and these bursaries are one such way of doing that.
The award is valued at £2,000 for the first year of study only. Up to 40 bursaries are available in 2016-17.
Joanne Conaghan, Head of the University of Bristol Law School, said:
We are delighted that the Denise Coates Foundation continues to fund these bursaries and very grateful for support they extend to our students. In doing so the Foundation is helping us fulfil our commitment to capturing and nurturing talent from all walks of life. For those coming from low-income backgrounds, getting here is just the start. Many will be balancing study with jobs and worries about paying the bills. Reducing their financial burden in the first year of their university studies will significantly increase their chances of reaching their potential.
