University of Bristol Centre for Deaf Studies is pleased to announce its new lifelong learning course - An Introduction to DeafhoodDeafhood is a concept which originated at the Centre for Deaf Studies, based on Dr. Paddy Ladd's (2003) book 'Understanding Deaf Culture: In search of Deafhood'. Since then the concept has spread rapidly and around the world, seeing the development of Deafhood websites, organisations, artworks and more.
The Centre for Deaf Studies Lifelong Learning Programme provides accredited British Sign Language courses, courses in Deaf Studies, Deafhood Studies and specialist British Sign Language interpreting courses.
