Part description

“But the funny thing was these images, moving ones, where it just immediately came back. Every s.., every, you know, less than a second of them, the decisions made in the editing or whatever it was, the actions, because they were made for video and they weren't just records of thing, they um, they just triggered this, this sense of knowing exactly what was there. Which I suppose was at first not”.

Richard continues “I've stopped. Just carry on its OK...well use the microphone...was...It's OK just carry on, breathe, go on just take a breath. You wanted to have some silence anyway, especially with these trains, which are going right over our heads. Its just so what was, the one I remembered first of all was, what was, you know my, what was going on in my life at the time and um, that was sometimes a bit painful to remember, but having forgotten about that, just seeing them as moving images of art really was funny”. He puts the cuff on his right forearm and walks centre left, he takes a lunge stance, his right leg forward and bent left leg back and straight. The cuff arm is raised out to the side of his body, just below shoulder height, He lifts his left arm to perform a quick throat/double chin action. Then his left arm returns to his side,. His right hand straightens, palm facing down and Richard looks at his flexed right hand, he moves the cuffed arm and takes a few steps to stage right but maintains his lunge position. Richard's gaze is always following the moving cuffed arm. He rotates his arm back and up, above and behind his head then forward palm facing out to the audience. His fingers are flexed outwards. Lifting his arm over head so his body leans over, he stops and stands up. Uncertain internal conversation starts up and Richard moves stage right to the microphone stand. He talks into the microphone and walks into the light as the Floor video begins. He then removes the cuff in darkness.
