The display focuses on eight strands of OGU research ranging from residual chemical signatures of dairying in archaeological pottery to determining the origin of the oil in the Kimmeridge Clay formations in Dorset. It takes the form of a game where the public are encouraged to solve a number of problems, concerning ancient artifacts, using real biomolecular information determined previously in the laboratory. The Palaeodetectives display has made appearances previously at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, the Bristol Festival of Nature and Bristol Science Alive!

The Palaeodetectives display shall be sited in the Will's Memorial Building as part of the Bristol Doors Open day on Saturday 10th September (10am-4pm).
